Topic: "Getting Radio Airplay" Radio is one of the most crucial platforms to getting your music out there for any artist or band. It helps to broaden your audience reach and gives a less cluttered environment than the digital space to showcase your music. Its also therefore one of the toughest platforms to tap into. So how do you get your music into the hands of the radio presenters, music directors, how do you get them to listen to your music and give you some airtime? Luck, determination, hard work, a well thought out plan and timings are key to having success at radio.

- Music Director, FBi 94.5fmFBi 94.5FM is an independent, community-based radio station, delivering the best in new music and emerging culture. FBi plays 50% Australian music, with half of that from Sydney and is often the first place new bands (local and international) receive airplay in Australia. FBi has the largest community radio license ever granted in Australia and broadcasts across Sydney and beyond - covering the city, central and south coast of New South Wales and outlying areas as well. Listenership is 255,000 people per week. Dan Zilber is FBi's Music Director. He is responsible for programming all music, booking music interviews, organising FBi's compilations, live gigs and festivals and generally being the point of contact for the music industry. He also acts as a music consultant to labels and music industry across multiple platforms - conferences, festivals, A&R, Sync etc. Dan also has a history in sync licensing for film/compilations, music buying for retail and independent label promotions.
