Music Managers Forum Australia Ltd was formed in 1991 in recognition of the needs of music managers and self-managed artists. The Music Managers Forum Australia Ltd is part of an international organisation managed by a governing council, executive officers and secretariat. The MMF’s members represent the majority of Australia's contemporary recording and performing artists and music producers, providing a means of sharing and learning from the experiences of other managers and an avenue through which common problems and areas of concern can be discussed. The MMF ultimately seeks to improve the managers’ capacity to support the careers of the artists that they represent. The MMF presents monthly forums in NSW and Victoria which are open to the public as well as members and which highlight topics including touring, copyright, marketing, negotiating skills, music law, recording and publishing contracts, taxation and business planning and feature local and international guest speakers.
